On 25 June Maestro Fencing School braved the cold weather in Hilton to join the other Kwa-Zulu Natal clubs for this year’s second closed competition. For a few of them this was their very first fencing competition! Our Durban fencers walked away with a total of 18 medals – 5 in epee and 13 in sabre.

We want to thank Midlands Fencing Academy and Fencing KZN for organising the event. Big hugs to all our Maestro family members for their support, both on the day and in the preparations leading up to it. Thanks to everyone who helped transport equipment back and forth, nursed our injuries, fed us snacks and cheered us on throughout the day. And, of course, thanks to all our fencers for your dedication to the sport of fencing, and for the positive attitudes and sportsmanship you showed at this competition. We are proud of you!

What an achievement Maestro club fencers! Proud to be part of this family!
